Labels are Shadows, People are Real

With all this talk of “labels” recently, there is one important point to remember.  Behind every label is a person.  It has been pointed out that the “l” word can be both positive and negative.  That is true.  And before we use one, believers should always consider the effect of our words.

Over the next several days, you will no doubt see many posts about this story, and I am probably not the most likely person to address it.  The reason I do is because it reminds me how easy it is for us to forget the individuality of the person behind the label.

I don’t care what theological corner you are in, this is a touching story of love, grace, and humanity.

Hello, My Father Just Died

Though I doubt they will ever read this, my thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the Piper family.

  1. Cameron,
That was powerful reading J. Piper’s last moments with his father. Strong faith especially as he leaves and questions the young man with the i-pod. WOW!
