Good News – Pt. 2

When there’s so much bad news, it’s encouraging to hear stories like the little artist I mentioned previously. Farmer Makes Season Bright For Troops is another such “Good News” story.

Over the past five years, Duke Wheeler has given over $25,000 worth of Christmas trees to our troops and their families. Despite such outstanding generosity, he says with characteristic humility, “”They’re making greater sacrifices than we, it’s just a token.”

Stories like these are great reminders that not everyone is a Scrooge or a merchandise-crazed, stampeding maniac. I’d like to post more of these type stories through the Christmas season, so if you come across one, e-mail it to me and I may post it (with due credit). If you have one that hasn’t made the news, feel free to share it in the comment section.

  1. This is what Christmas is all about, generosity and selflessness. The recipients deserve our gratitude, for their courage and personal sacrifices.Good on Duke Wheeler 🙂
