You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on iniquity: wherefore do you look upon them that deal treacherously, and hold your tongue when the wicked devours the man that is more righteous than he?
Like the prophet Habakkuk, our faith is sometimes troubled by the seeming incongruity between God’s character and His observed behavior. Who God has revealed Himself to be appears different from His actions.
Life is a puzzle. We look at our situation and from our view we see a single piece that is a blur of colors, makes no sense, doesn’t seem to fit anywhere. Surely there has been an error and the wrong piece has been put into the box – there is no way our circumstances can contribute to anything of value or beauty.
God’s view supersedes ours and comprehends the entire scene. He holds the “box top.” He knows exactly where our piece fits to complete the picture and has perfectly planned the entire puzzle to fit together into a masterpiece.
