Weekends are for Worship: Worship and the Weakness of Legalism

The weakness of legalism is that man-made lists will never measure up to God’s standard of holiness. An worshipful encounter with God’s holiness will make this clear.

God displays holiness as the central and defining essence of His character. When we allow ourselves to be gripped by that reality, no human standard of goodness, no man-made regulation of righteousness, no plastic, legalistic creed will ever again substitute for such a fearful and wonderful encounter.
