Riding With God on the Roller Coaster of Life

A Study of Psalm 31

Have you ever felt like life was one big roller coaster? It seems as if at any minute the bottom could drop out? One minute you’re up, the next you’re down. Sudden turns, twists and dives take your breath away and leave you desperate for solid ground.

While I’m sure King David never rode a roller coaster, he must have experienced that same feeling as he penned the 31st Psalm. It is a chorus of highs and lows. A mosaic of misery and mercy. This psalm reflects the depths of David’s heart as he endures the uncertainties of life, and, in them, experiences the stability that comes from relying on God.

Over the next couple of weeks I want to share several posts examining this psalm with the hopes that it will encourage you as it has me.
